We don’t go out to eat as much. We try to stay home to watch movies.”

About 75 percent of women with children told researchers in the poll that the recession has changed their spending and savings habits “forever,” compared with 61 percent of women without children and 60 percent of men. The poll found women across all income levels are experiencing the pain of the recession and are curtailing purchases, but working mothers have been hardest hit by the economy.

Women Always Be Shopping at the Mall
Many women shop differently. A woman will go into a store, see something they like, maybe carry it around with them, go to another part of the store, see something they like, put back the first thing they grabbed, go to another part of the store, see something else they like, grab it, carry it around, put it back, see something else they like, put it back, go back to the first thing they saw, pick it up, go back to the third thing they saw, put the first thing back, look again at the second thing they saw, put everything back, go to another store, repeat the exercise, come back to the first store and buy the second thing they saw. And then return it the next day for the fourth thing they saw.

In modern terms, women are much more likely than men to know when a specific type of item will go on sale. Women also spend much more time choosing the perfect fabric, color and texture.
